june has lasted at least a month and a half. Its not that it has been bad. I have two jobs that I love, great people that I work with, the opportunity to meet new friends each week. THe pace of summer is just so hectic though. i am aware that people may scoff at that because for most people, summer means a slower pace, but i have 10 weeks of non stop 7am to 11pm. This coming week RUSH is closed and i get to breathe. I can't wait. I am so ready to turn off my alarm, cut some grass, clean my house, lay by a pool somewhere, play ball with my neices and nephews, (shop) with friends, and laze around.
When i return, there will be four more weeks of summer. But i'll have my second wind.

2010 in Review
I have a couple of friends who send a "year in review" update of their lives instead of a Christmas card. It always fascinates me because i can't seem to remember what i did yesterday morning. But as i was changing out my calendars this morning, I realized that i didn't have to remember it on my own because i had the memories in my hand. so, here goes:
January: back to work, quick trip to Memphis, lots of basketball, a couple of snow days, and a lot of work. :)
February: gave up one of my three jobs, took a spanish class, more ballgames, 2nd Manna and Mercy retreat.
March: interviewing interns, hosting 4 groups at Urban, spoke at Camp Lee for lester memorials youth retreat, lots of friends birthdays, spoke at UMW district retreat (they loved my pink hair :) )
April: book club, Chrysalis, hired interns :), vacation/camping/road trip to orlando, UMVIM board meeting, spoke at Tablescapes (harpersville)

August: Haiti,, Cam started kindergarten, officially joined ICE group, 3rd Manna and Mercy retreat
September: Hannah and Lizbits Volleyball, Luke football, Cam and Neely soccer, Raindrop festival, Haiti return trip.
October: Returned from Haiti, Pastors Convocation at Duke University (are you Rob Bell?), worked Chalkville Epiphany

December: Common Prayer book release, basketball games, Festival of Three Kings, Luke Neely and Cam in Christmas play, Elf at Alabama Theatre, Christmas, Christmas, Christmas.
so many other things not list. these just stuck out to me from my calendar pages...

New Year!
I have proven in the past that i am not the best blogger. I don't really know that this will be any different, but I felt like writing. Today was a good day. nothing outstanding, just a quiet day of rest and reflection at home. I slept until almost 11am. Probably the latest I've slept in this millenium. Then i cleaned, cooked the southern staples of black-eyed peas and greens, watched movies, wrote out my resolutions, purged my closets, ate said staples, and read.
in july of this year, i will turn 40 years old. That absolutely blows my mind. i can remember being a little girl and thinking about how old i would be in the year 2000 and not really believing that i would live to "be that old".
All that i know is that my life is really nothing like i thought it would be but that's not all bad. I never imagined half the stuff that i have been able to experience in my life. I couldn't imagine the friends and family as it is now. I couldn't have dreamed up my job. It's amazing really. There's a lot i want to change, so much more that i want to do...and my prayer is that God will continue to have a bigger imagination than me.
I've got a feeling that this year is gonna be a good, good year :)
